Head of E-Sports, GOAT Agency
Adam will be taking a look at how pubs can embrace the gaming and e-sports world and tap into the millennial market when it comes to one of the fastest growing spectator sports areas.
Adam Whyte has a background in professional sport and tech startup. After completing his LL.M. in International Sports Law, he worked as a sports lawyer from 2009 – 2015 for clubs like AS Roma, Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Sevilla FC. Having been a life-long gamer, and playing 40,000 games of Hearthstone during his second masters in Buiness Management & Corporate Finance, in 2015 he moved into esports: a career decision that still makes him smile.
He is now the Head of Esports & Gaming at the Goat Agency, the #1 Influencer Marketing Agency in the U.K. and he is the CEO of Edge Esports Ltd., an esports platform allowing for scalable and robust connectivity in a growth industry.
Adam has been a lecturer in International Sports Law at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia and the University of Leuven and will be a lecturer of esports at ISDE in April 2018. Moreover, he advises startups including Ireland’s ESTARS (www.estars.pro) and StreamTime.App (http://streamtimeapp.tv/), and advices law firms, broadcasters, banks and telecommunications companies on their esports strategy.
He has written a host of articles on contractual stability, regulatory issues and racism & censorship in the esports & sports world. He is a frequent speaker at events like the Esports Bar in Cannes, France; and Opportunities for Brands in Esports hosted by Space Ape Games. He mains Symmetra, has a 2% Fortnite win record, and once found a secret room in Mario 64 which he submitted to Nintendo Power many moons ago.
